What Is Wrong With Minnesota Sports Teams?

It has been almost 21 years since a (male) professional team has won a championship for Minnesota. I know the Minnesota Lynx won a championship last year, and kudos to them, but this story is going to be about the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Minnesota Wild.

It is not like we haven’t had our chances. In the past decade all four of those teams made it to their respected Conference, or League championship. As we speak now, all four of them are considered rebuilding, except the T-Wolves who you could make an argument that they are not rebuilding anymore.

The past year has been so embarrassing for Minnesota, that politicians are in no hurry to build a Vikings stadium, and has fans missing Brett Favre. The Twins were so horrible it has fans having nightmares of the late 90′s Twins(which is bad)

If there is any hope at the end of the tunnel, it might come in the form of a beard. When Kevin Love was rocking that full neck beard the T-Wolves were rolling, but as soon has the Target Center started to sell out someones knee blew out(Sorry Rubio). Hopefully Ricky Rubio knee comes back even better, and we the fans can watch the T-Wolves make a run at the playoffs next year.

The Wild started off smoking hot this past year, and at one point were the best team in the National Hockey League, but before the fans even could utter the famous P-word, the Wild landed flat on their faces.

It has not been all that bad here in the state of 10,000 lakes right? At least we win playoff games, oh wait that has not happened since January 17, 2010. That has been a stretch of 718 days(and counting) since the Minnesota Vikings crushed the Dallas Cowboys. Unless the Twins can rebound this year(doubtful), then the streak of win-less playoff games will hit quadruple digits until someone brings home a playoff victory, and my prediction will be either one or both, the Wild, and the T-Wolves next season.

Is there an end in sight? or will this drought of none championship years continue? Unfortunately a championship is not in sight for any of these four teams for at least two more years. My prediction will be once again either the Wild or T-Wolves will bring home the next championship either in 2014 or 2015. The Vikings might not even be in the state when that time comes, and for the Twins it looks like we will be watching a team for the next few years that will resemble the 90′s Twins, which means watch for Matt Lawton to make a comeback.
